US College Radio Stations Airs Original Concert Audio of Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Tizzy Bac, Nell and Straightner produced by Tokyo FM

asiankungfugeneration2Tokyo FM and JFN(Japan FM Network), Japan’s largest commercial radio network and its key station presented the EARTH X HEART LIVE 2014 concert on Earth Day, at the TOKYO International Hall in Tokyo.

Under the station’s principle “Earth & Human Conscious,” the concert aims to “pave the way to the future through respect for the earth and human life” through the power of music by the ASIA’s four leading bands NELL, TIZZY BAC, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and STRAIGHTENER. Radio stations in the World will participate in the broadcast.

AKGAsian Kan-Fu Generation is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in 1996. The band’s musical style has seminal Western punk and alternative rock influence in conjunction with their own local Japanese indie rock background. Despite the indie nature of their music, the band has enjoyed worldwide commercial success in addition to critical acclaim. They are known for the theme songs of the popular anime series “Naruto”, “Fullmetal Alchemist” and “Bleach.”

2014 Performer: from JAPAN <STRAIGHTENER>

StraightnerJapanese rock band STRAIGHTENER was formed in 1998. After several years of indie gigs, they released their major debut single “Traveling Gargoyle” from Toshiba EMI in 2003. In December 2013, they toured in Korea, Singapore and Taiwan with Asian Kung-Fu Generation to celebrate both bands’ 10-year anniversary.

NellNell is a South Korean indie rock band. Formed in 1999, the group was named after the movie, Nell, that starred Jodie Foster. The band is known for their gloomy and psychedelic sound. After they gained their fame with tracks like “Stay” “Thank You” and “Good Night.” Their third studio album Healing Process was chosen as one of the five best recordings of the year by critics from South Korea. Nell’s fourth studio album Separation Anxiety was a huge hit in South Korea, ranking number one in various album charts.

tizzybacFormed in 1999, Taipei, Taiwan, multicolor band TIZZY BAC integrates jazz, alternative rock and electronic elements, creating a unique atmosphere that indistinctly reminds of Ben Folds Five, New Order and Loop.
Their second studio album “I Think It’s All My Fault That You Turned Out Like That” (2006) made Tizzy Bac one of the biggest indie rock bands in Taiwan.



Tokyo FM welcomes all the radio station to participate in the BROADCAST of the concert’s recorded audio and help raise awareness of important environmental issues, such as marine and atmospheric pollution.
