I heard of this band through a friend recently.
They’re an indies band who formed back in 2002 in Saitama (which is an area outside Tokyo by train). What’s interesting about this band is both the guitarist (Toru Kitajima. The guy on the left in the grey/green shirt) and bassist (Miyoko Nakamura, the girl on the right) both sing, usually high-pitched and screaming. Think of them as another version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but more tolerable.
What I love the most about this band is the bassist can REALLY play. She goes to town on that thing like nobody’s business and breaks away from the standard rhythm label that’s been smacked onto this awesome instrument. Another good point about the band is the drummer (Masatoshi Nakano, the guy in the middle) gets creative with his beats on the drums.
They released their album, “just a Moment” on May 13th, the same day Nightmare released theirs. Their fast-paced, rhythm changing songs will get you dancing in your seats.
Here are two songs from their recent album, “JPOP Xfile” and “Telecastic fake show.”
